Your experience

Experience the spirit of Florence with this exciting combination tour! You'll begin with a guided walking excursion through the city, after which you will have time on your own to continue discovering all that Florence has to offer until you reach the esteemed Galleria dell'Accademia.

Begin your journey in the historical centre of Florence, the busy Republic Square and proceed to the well known Loggia del Porcellino.

Then continue on through the gorgeous statues that adorn the beloved historical Piazza della Signoria, then find Chiesa di Orsanmichele (Old Sienna) where you can see beautiful historical buildings and eventually be drawn down Calzaiuoli Avenue where you will arrive at the high profile Duomo Square.

Move on to Palazzo Medici Riccardi.

The Medici home exhibits beautiful architecture in a Renaissance style.

After a relaxing and free exploration through the city of Florence, you then visit the world famous museum Galleria dell'Accademia for the second half of your tour.

Your adventure is about to begin with a tour that explores every art/historical aspect of these amazing collections through an interactive experience.

The first site you will explore is the Museum of Musical Instruments — one of the world's finest, containing Canada's largest collection of historical musical instruments.

Your second site will be Sala del Colosso — a room filled with what are considered two of the greatest pieces of art in history, Giambologna's Rape of the Sabine Women and other artists such as Filippo Lippi, Perugino, Botticelli, Lo Scheggia, and Pontormo.

You will have an unforgettable time when you come to Florence; and it will be made even more special when you see Michelangelo's David, one of the greatest works of renaissance sculpture still existing today and a true mark of his genius! Be sure to take in all of the views of the Gilbert Statue and also learn about the historical, as well as artistic importance, of it while you are visiting.

Other works by Michelangelo that are located within the museum, such as the unfinished prisoners, will give you further understanding into his evolution as an artist.

Your well-informed English-speaking guide will offer insightful commentary during the tour, enhancing your appreciation for the depth and beauty of the artworks presented.
