Limited to 10 participantsVisit two of the world’s largest collections of art in Florence on this day trip! You will have small groups of no more than 15 people, express entrance tickets, & knowledgeable local guides to help you maximize your time at both museums.
“Nothing compares to seeing a multitude of masterpieces in one day.
With a guide to help you understand and interpret what you have seen, you will leave with a much deeper appreciation for the artwork you have seen and its significance during the Renaissance period in Italy & the world,” said one of the local experts, Elena.
The Accademia Gallery is filled with different types of art (including, but not limited to, frescoes, paintings, and altarpieces) that can be found in 7 gallery rooms.
Starting from the Hall of the Colossal Figure to the Hall of the Prisoners – where participants will also have the opportunity to view Michelangelo's unfinished marble sculptures – visitors will be able to view several examples of Michelangelo's works.
The tour then ends in the Tribune, where you will find Michelangelo's most famous piece – the David statue – made from a single piece of marble and carved at age 26.
Prior to entering the Uffizi Gallery, you will be able to regroup at the rooftop café for some relaxation and refreshments followed by a guided tour through the gallery where we will explore many of the major masterpieces created by some of the greatest artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Botticelli, Caravaggio, Titian, etc.
As this is a small group activity, not only will you have the chance to see all that is within the large collection but also learn how each of the masterworks relates historically to what took place at the time and the processes used in creating each masterwork, as well as learn how the style and symbolism of many of the works were incorporated into them by members of the Medici family, who had a major role in the Renaissance Period in Europe.
