Keep your travel plans flexible — book your spot and pay nothing today.A well-planned trip around Florence will include a small (maximum 12 person) group tour to allow participants to be involved in every aspect of their experiences.
Each group will also be accompanied by a knowledgeable guide to assist with sightseeing in Florence, without the stress of being within a large group environment.
Begin your visit at the Accademia through priority entrances.
Step directly through to see the statue of David – A Michelangelo Masterpiece.
You will have the opportunity to learn how this artwork defines Renaissance art and influence all of the other styles of artist throughout the Renaissance period and all of the cultures of artists who influenced the Renaissance Artists and their work in Florence.
The historic centre of town is located directly in front of the Cathedral’s Piazza del Duomo.
A professional guide will describe to you what the Cathedral complex is and about its intended purpose, the passion that was used to build it, and how the Cathedral complex was built.
You will learn about how the three Sacred Places (Duomo, Baptistery, and Campanile) that comprise the Cathedral represent three unique qualities.
When your tour is completed, you will have a solid appreciation of how important the Cathedral is to the people of Florence (Historically, Culturally, Artistically & Religiously).
Depending on what time of day you decide to visit the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral will determine which parts of the church and buildings you will see.
If you're planning to go at an afternoon then you will be able to enter the interior of the cathedral.
However, if you decide that a morning visit is better, then you will primarily view the outside of the cathedral, the marble fronts, and the incredible work done by Brunelleschi on his original design for the building from inside the piazza.
Witness first-hand the exceptional artistry and achievements of Florence through its magnificent Baptistery vaulted ceiling with magnificent gold mosaics - known as the "Gates of Paradise".
Continue on to the Museo del Duomo (Duomo Museum) to see some of the original sculptures and artifacts from the Cathedral Complex and learn about the history of the Cathedral Complex through many of the artifacts located at the museum.
As an adventure summary, I recommend climbing to the top of Giotto's Bell Tower on your own.
You can climb at your own speed and see Florence from above; you will be able to enjoy a great view of Florence's rooftops and the rolling hills of Tuscany.
