Your experience

Florence is popularly known as the "Heart of Tuscany", and is described by many as the centre of Italian Renaissance as seen from the way of living, the art surrounding you, and how it was all created; for example, the Craftsmanship Area and the Historic District (Medieval/Static areas).

As you view these works of art (like Leonardo Da Vinci’s The Last Supper), you will see many creations by artists such as Botticelli and Michelangelo, one of which is David found at ACCADEMIA.

While you're in Florence, be sure to see the Stunning Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and The Wonderful Dome Built by Brunelleschi, plus be sure to stop by The Baptistry and Giotto's Bell Tower while you're there too! You can walk to Piazza Della Signoria from there, which is the Center for all Government Activity since the 14th Century in Florence! You can see how beautiful Michelangelo’s statue of David is located in Palazzo Vecchio, where it was put on display to symbolize the strength of the Florentine Republic.

The original statue can now only be displayed in the Accademia Gallery.

Baccio Bandinelli’s sculptures of Adam and Eve, as well as Hercules and Cacus, show the power of the Medici family.

The Neptune Fountain and Loggia di Lanzi (also referred to as the Loggia della Signoria) features many wonderful pieces of artwork and statues; among those is the Rape of the Sabine Women by Giambologna as well as Perseus Holding the Head of Medusa.

The walking tour concludes at Ponte Vecchio—a landmark of Florence.

In the past, this area served as a market for meat and fish, but now it’s home to many historic, world-renowned goldsmith-only businesses.
